About me:
After receiving my undergraduate degree in Public Health in 2014 I spent 3 years working in health promotion (both corporate and non-profit) and more recently 4 years in clinical research. I have always been fascinated about the role of food in how our bodies operate at a biochemical level. I am currently pursuing a Master of Science in the NSC Graduate Program to further my knowledge of research in this area.

About Me
I have a BSc degree in nutritional sciences and an MSc in clinical nutrition. Currently, I am pursuing my PhD in nutritional sciences so that I can gain more in-depth knowledge and have the opportunity to make original contributions to my field of interest. I have always been driven by an inner voice to bring research findings into daily life; hence, I am more fascinated by applied research. Particularly, I am curious about the interplay between nutrition and human physiology (e.g., metabolic syndrome).

I am originally from Cork, Ireland. I moved to the States in 2015 to be a student-athlete at McNeese State University. While there I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, competed as an NCAA D1 All-American, and found my passion for pursuing research—which brought me to The University of Arizona, Tucson to begin my PhD.

About Me
I am from Taiwan. After obtaining my bachelor’s and master’s degree in food science from National Pingtung University of Science and Technology, I worked for food companies for three years. In my master’s research, I investigated the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities of functional food. It was relevant to improving disease prevention in the human body, and I was drawn into this area. I also enjoy doing research and learning new knowledge, which led me to pursue my PhD in nutritional sciences.

I am originally from New York, and my academic path reflects a strong commitment to health equity and culturally responsive, community-centered care. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Arizona, where my research focuses on plant-based nutrition, functional foods, and movement-based interventions to improve quality of life in individuals with chronic illnesses, particularly chronic kidney disease.

About me:
I am originally from China and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Sichuan Agricultural University. My undergraduate research focused on  the molecular mechanisms regulating feeding behavior and nutrition in fish. During that time, I gained hands-on experience with biochemical and molecular laboratory techniques, and it led me to focus on molecular questions that have practical applications.
