About Me:
I am originally from New York, and my academic path reflects a strong commitment to health equity and culturally responsive, community-centered care. I am currently pursuing my PhD in Nutritional Sciences at the University of Arizona, where my research focuses on plant-based nutrition, functional foods, and movement-based interventions to improve quality of life in individuals with chronic illnesses, particularly chronic kidney disease.
Before beginning my doctoral studies, I gained experience in clinical trials and nutrition-focused hospital settings, which shaped my dedication to developing sustainable, evidence-based therapies for underserved populations. Outside of research, I am an avid music enthusiast, enjoy spending time outdoors, and seek opportunities to merge creativity with science. I am also passionate about mentoring future nutrition scholars and translating research into practical solutions that address disparities in access, outcomes, and long-term health resilience.
Why did you choose the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Arizona?
I was drawn to the University of Arizona for its interdisciplinary approach to nutrition research and its emphasis on translating science into community impact. The program’s collaborative environment, and focus on improving health outcomes for diverse populations align perfectly with my vision for addressing health disparities through nutrition and lifestyle interventions.
