Undergraduate Minors

Understanding nutrition science complements many fields like medicine, agriculture, business, and public policy. Adding a nutrition and wellness minor makes you a stronger job applicant and helps with grad school applications. You’ll typically take six or seven classes in your chosen subject area to earn your minor.

To declare a minor, you must be a UA student with a declared UA major. Students may elect to pursue the nutritional sciences minor, OR the sports nutrition minor, OR the food systems minor. Students are not eligible to complete multiple minors within the school. Majors within the school are not eligible to declare a nutritional sciences minor, sports nutrition minor, nor food systems minor. NSC majors interested in taking the sports nutrition or food systems classes should contact their academic advisor to discuss a thematic minor.
