Yixiao Xiong
About me:
I am originally from China and graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Agriculture from Sichuan Agricultural University. My undergraduate research focused on the molecular mechanisms regulating feeding behavior and nutrition in fish. During that time, I gained hands-on experience with biochemical and molecular laboratory techniques, and it led me to focus on molecular questions that have practical applications.
Why did you choose the Nutritional Sciences Graduate Program at the University of Arizona?
I chose this program because it has well-equipped labs and solid research support, and it values interdisciplinary approaches—an outlook that fits my interests. Dr. Ningning Zhao’s academic goals align with my research interests and would give me the opportunity to pursue deeper study from a broader, multidisciplinary perspective. I believe that under his guidance we can work together to address more of these questions.
