About Me
I was born and raised in Gilbert, Arizona, and I attended the University of Arizona to receive a Bachelor of Science degree in microbiology. After I graduated, I started working as a research technician in the lab of Dr. Ashley Snider here at the University of Arizona, where I received more exposure to the field of nutrition. I found the interconnections between nutrition, metabolism, and disease fascinating, and this led me to pursuing a master’s degree to study metabolic diseases more closely. When I have free time, you can find me playing video games, reading, or fencing.
Why I chose the Nutritional Sciences Program at the University of Arizona
I chose this program firstly because of the support it grants to its research and its students, and secondly because of the emphasis placed on interdisciplinary research. I had previous exposure to the program, so I knew that the faculty were encouraging and supportive, and this quality of mentorship is valuable to me. It also helped that I was already familiar with Tucson, and I knew that I would be comfortable living here again.
