Nutrition Opportunities for Undergraduate Students Promoting Resilient and Inclusive, Sustainable Food and Health Systems (NOURISH)

NOURISH is a two-year program for Main Campus students who want to learn about food, where it comes from and how to use food to promote human health. The program is open to students majoring in any nutrition degree offered by the School of Nutritional Sciences and Wellness.

Program overview

Our aim is to engage and prepare students to thrive in college and successfully enter nutrition- and health-related graduate and professional schools after graduation. During your junior and senior years,  you will participate in a 2-unit class each semester, which will provide ~240 hours of hands-on experience working in urban farming and food science research, develop leadership and soft skills that graduate / professional schools and employers want, and build a large network of mentors and professional contacts.

The NOURISH Scholars program provides student participants with $4,500 per semester during junior and senior years totaling $18,000 in direct student support for tuition, fees and cost of living. As a participant, you will also frequently work with faculty mentors, graduate dietetics students and staff to provide you with guidance and support you as you prepare for graduate or professional school.
